South Georgia island. The light in Antartic and in subantartic islands is some time amazing.

The quality of light you describe comes from the low angle of the sun. We get the same type of light in our northern regions. I really like the composition in your shot. It is an interesting mix of drama and calmness. Bravo!

You are particularly good at these shots of water. Here again a limited tonal range and interesting light combine for a very effective and evocative photo.
