I'd like to be a farmerPosted by akarui (Kagoshima, Japan) on 2 July 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture. This was the youngest child in the group. I was quiet impressed by how she worked aside her mother until the end. Many other children didn't stay that long. I repeat that planting rice is mostly done by machines and that the children were enjoying that moment. It was not work but just play and they were free to go out any time they wanted. This is not a picture showing the hardness of children working for a poor salary! Thank you very much for all your comments.

Artin Zaman from Tehran, IranWe also have people plant rice here in Iran mainly on the northern section of the country. 2 Jul 2008 7:29am Laurent from Lyon, Franceelle a l'air de bien s'amuser. 2 Jul 2008 12:05pm MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyReminds me of my childhood when I was harvesting potatoes :-) 2 Jul 2008 1:32pm yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, Greecevery beautiful images - I like them a lot 2 Jul 2008 4:01pm MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomWhat a wonderful exprerince for everyone who took part.
